XStar's Proof of Humanity (PoH) solution combines an adaptive scoring system (XHS) with increasing verification thresholds to stay ahead of AI advancements. Combining this adaptability with an omnichain name service (XNAME) for seamless interoperability of DIDs across Web3.
Traditional identity systems have centralized the issuance, maintenance and control of your identifiers.
Decentralized identity removes reliance on centralized third parties.
Thanks to crypto, users now have the tools to issue, hold and control their own identifiers and attestations once again.
1- Omni-chain Identity Protocol (XID)
In the XSTAR decentralized identity system, every person has a unique, human-readable omni-chain decentralized Identifier (XID) as their primary identity. In this case the wallet address is combined with the XID, allowing for seamless use across multiple networks (Bitcoin, EVM, Solana etc).
2- Omni-chain Domain Name Space (XNAME)
A domain name space (XNAME) is implemented at the user level to facilitate user licensing to access the XSTAR Identity suite. Each individual can use a unique, human-readable Omni-chain Domain Name (XNAME), which serves as an identifier for cross-chain identity verification.
3-Adaptive Proof of Humanity (XHS)
The second part is adaptive Proof of Humanity, a solution designed to address the shortcomings of traditional reverse Turing tests such as CAPTCHA, reCAPTCHA, and hCAPTCHA. This innovation encompasses a variety of proof of humanity protocols that continuously evolve and adapt to counter the growing threats posed by AI duplications, bots, scam accounts, and other fraudulent activities.
XNAME bridges on-chain identities with off-chain real-world identities, providing a seamless, secure, and intuitive user experience across various blockchain and Web3 applications.
Primary Identifier: Each person has a unique, human-readable Omni-chain Domain Name (XNAME) for cross-chain identity.
Design Philosophy: Simplifies blockchain addresses to easy-to-remember names, enhancing user experience.
User-Friendly Names: Allows users to choose short, meaningful names (e.g., "alice.base" or "bob.zk") instead of long blockchain addresses.
Comprehensive Identity: XNAME links to a user's decentralized identity (DID), incorporating personal info, reputation, and social graph.
XHS - Adaptive PoH verifies humanity using three core mechanisms to create a comprehensive humanity score while in stage 3 increases preservation of privacy through on-chain Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) verification:
Biometric analysis: This mechanism utilizes advanced biometric verification techniques to confirm the user's physical identity. In Phase 1, it employs multidimensional facial mapping and liveness testing to create a 3D model of the user's face and ensure it is a real-time video feed, preventing spoofing attacks. Phase 2 will incorporate additional biometrics, such as voice recognition and fingerprint scans, further strengthening the verification process.
Non-biometric analysis: XStar evaluates the user's social graph usage and behavioral patterns, both on-chain and off-chain. This analysis considers factors such as the user's online presence, interactions, and activities across various platforms. By examining these patterns, XStar can assess the likelihood of the user being a real human entity and detect potential bot or AI-driven behavior.
Physical verification events: In addition to the digital verification methods, XStar will organize physical verification events at designated locations or during specific gatherings. These events will allow users to undergo in-person verification, further solidifying their human identity and establishing trust within the ecosystem.
Regarding offline events, XSTAR features a system to track participation. Attendees are required to locate event staff and scan their QR code for authentication. XHS points are automatically added once verification is complete. In the future, XSTAR plans to establish XHS verification nodes in various regions. Individuals who participate in node verification will gain verifier privileges, allowing them to organize local offline events for real-person verification. Verifiers will receive corresponding incentives from XSTAR.
XStar's adaptive scoring system (XHS) assigns weighted scores to each of these verification mechanisms, continuously adjusting the thresholds and requirements as AI technology evolves. This approach ensures that XStar's PoH remains ahead of advancements in AI capabilities, providing a robust and future-proof solution for verifying human identities.
